The 2028 Summer Olympic Games are confirmed to take place in Los Angeles, CA. A truly exciting time for sports fans and professionals in the industry, Play by Play (PxP) Broadcaster Jesse Ough couldn’t be more excited for the LA based Olympic Games! And now, there’s even more excitement surrounding the Games with LA28’s recent proposal for five additional sports.
As of October 2023, the LA28 Organising Committee has submitted a proposal to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Programme Commission, presenting five additional sports to be considered for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, CA. IOC’s Programme Commission has since reviewed the proposal, making the five additional sports public. Now, the Commission is set to issue a recommendation regarding these additional sports, which will be presented to the IOC Executive Board and the IOC Session for approval.
The five proposed sports are pretty thrilling options, if you ask Play by Play (PxP) Broadcaster and Podcast Host of The Sports Scene Jesse Ough! The sports are Baseball-Softball, Cricket, Flag Football, Lacrosse and Squash. Pretty interesting additions, these sports aren’t all the way new to the Olympic Games. Three of the sports have previously been included at the Games (baseball-softball, cricket and lacrosse).
