Early Career Experience
Eager to make his way into the world of sports broadcasting, Jesse Ough took on his first role as a Sports Broadcaster for Pittsburg Diamonds Professional Baseball. Halfway through the first inning: Ough was locked into his role. He knew that he had found where he wanted to be! In this introductory role, Ough was one of the play-by-play voices, providing live game coverage that broadcasted live on the radio. He also contributed to the broadcast’s color analysis. He then continued on to a Sports Director role at KALX 90.7 FM. As head of the sports department of the radio station, Ough was responsible for all managerial duties, including scheduling the broadcasting teams, assigning duties to members of the team, facilitating travel and accommodations, and ensuring proper maintenance of broadcasting equipment. He also communicated directly with PAC-12 sports information directors. For the last six years, Ough has been fortunate enough to provide coverage of all important PAC-12 Conference games — which was all sparked by his formative experience at KALX 90.7 FM!
